Demonstration Projects
The demonstration projects
were selected taking into consideration a number of different criteria.
The type, nature and location of project were selected on the basis of
sufficient size or number of units, range of applications, location, construction
and potential for full-scale project. The technical aspects concerning
materials, equipment and concrete mixture proportioning were considered
on the basis of maximized use of fly ash (>30%), material with good track
record and appropriate equipment. The actual potential impact of the project
was considered with respect to significant CO2 emissions reduction, positive
environmental as well as social impacts and the possibility of a significant
impact on the State/National codes for construction. The availability
of information on the possible risk and consequence of failure associated
with the project that in turn could have disastrous impact on the implementation
of the technology and the use of fly ash in concrete.
According to the above criteria the following projects have been chosen as demonstration projects.
